by Noelle Stevenson

Holy Mae Jemison, this was fun. When Jo, April, Mal, Molly and Ripley attend Miss Quenzilla Thiskwin Penniquiquil Thistle Crumpet’s Camp for Hardcore Lady Types, they aren’t exactly expecting three eyed foxes, secret caves, hipster yetis, arm wrestling matches with pantheon-esque statues or a pack of possessed boy scouts. But that’s what they get. Soon after they arrive, they are tossed into a mythical quest of Indiana-Jones-style proportions, only with a lot more exclamations of “What the Junk” and “Friendship to the Max.” I dig it, and especially appreciate that the teens in this book are absolutely my teens at the library, but as a teen I would have LOVED this even more. Epic fantasy adventure with great quips and great art.
