Fat Angie Jacketby e.E. Charlton-Trujillo

Review: Angie’s life is pretty much in shambles. Her sister has disappeared while on tour in Iraq, causing Angie’s mental health to spiral. After a failed attempt at suicide in front of the entire school, she still walks the halls, trying to find a way to belong–both in school and in her own body. As the story progresses we see the evolution: she picks up an interest in basketball, along with an interest in the new girl, KC Romance. With these two touchstones, she is able to re-form her world as one worth living in.

A touching, realistic story that is about love, grief, pain and belonging. It’s about life and growing up. A fantastic read for all ages.
