Pure

by Julianna Baggott

A new kind of terrible bomb destroyed civilization, leaving many in the world fused to the objects around them at the time of the detonation. Pressia is one such girl – a doll’s head fused to her arm. She lives among the “wretches” outside of the dome where the “pures” live in privilege. Partridge is the son of the brains behind the cataclysm, a Pure who is searching for his mother whom he is certain survived the disaster years before.

An interesting, visually arresting world. Fast-paced action. Well-written descriptions. I am looking forward to the second book in the series!
