Life, Above All—(Africa)

First let me say that besides relevant and emotional content, this movie is exceptionally well shot. I was very pleased with the choice of angles, close-ups, and backgrounds – not to mention the colors! Even without a great story this film would have been worth watching just for the visuals. Having said that, I have to further add that the content is moving and informative – a wonderful story of mother/daughter relationships and the power of love; the destructive power of rumor, prejudice, and ignorance; and what it means to stand up for what you believe.  I found the strength evident in our 12-year-old protagonist to be empowering.  It gave me hope.

I would highly recommend this film!
