In the beginning of a new mystery series “All things murder“ by Jeanne Quigley , we find Veronica Walsh, a famous Soap Opera actress for the acclaimed “Days and Nights” where she has played many roles .But as usual with all things on television, the end is always around the corner. So when her television career is on hiatus because of lack of opportunities for a maturing actress like her, she decides to go back home. Home is a small town in the Adirondack’s region where she grew up and know its residents and her best friend lives too.
Going back home isn’t easy for Veronica who finds herself lacking something useful to do . When her neighbor Anna Langdon , powerful businesswoman in town, turns up dead, Veronica is caught up in the middle.
While still trying to decide what to do about her future (or lack of) and with the help of an old friend from high school Mark Burke and his former co-star Alex Shelby, Veronica must try to figure out who is behind the murder.
I love this book because Veronica Walsh is such a loveable character, witty and generous but also very insecure of what her future is going to bring her. The supporting cast of characters are also very likeable. The pace of the mystery is great. The author did an amazing job of creating this fictional town populated with all kind of fun, loveable characters. The mystery kept well until the end and can hardly wait for the next book.
