This is a short, sweet little graphic novel (graphic short story?) memoir about Tomine’s adventures in wedding planning. Effectively told through a series of short vignettes, we’re led through many of the frustrations and especially the laughter. Tomine’s writing is at once intimate and light-hearted; readers will have no trouble identifying with his stories. The art strikes a similar balance, as it’s somewhat rough and I felt like I was looking at a sketchbook or journal.
This book is a hilarious peek into the ups and downs of wedding planning that I think will appeal to pretty much anyone. My only complaint was that it’s such a short read. I could have happily read a hundred more pages of this!
