This story follows King Arthur as he is “resurrected” in the modern day to once again be a leader of men–in this case by running for mayor of New York. In addition to dealing with the rules, regulations, and absurdities of modern civilization, Arthur also runs into friends and foes (both old and new) and has to contend with the plotting of Morgan Le Fay and Modred. As with most of David’s other works, it’s engaging with deft touches of wit, drama, and the occasional interplay of the two that is a signature of his work. Recommended for those who enjoy “real world” fantasy; Dresden Files fans in particular should find the style very familiar.
